We wish you a very Happy Holi!

Purva Gulyani, an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, has some great advice for healthy snacking during the wonderful Festival of Holi:

“Add some healthy almonds as a nibble to swap the chips and namkeen. Try dry or oven Australian roasted almonds with herbs and spices or your favourite chat masala. Another idea is to add some almonds to salad and chats which will give some extra crunch with nutrition”.

Purva reminds us that a recent study conducted in Mumbai found that eating almonds reduced inflammatory markers and cholesterol levels in participants. The study concluded that almonds are a good inclusion in a food-based strategy to reduce the risk of pre-diabetes. Purva suggests that even during Festival celebrations, we should enjoy delicious nourishing foods such as Australian almonds.

“Enjoy eating almonds the way our grandparents taught us. Soak them overnight in water and eat them in the morning for an energising start to a busy and colourful day of Holi.”

The whole Australian almond community wishes you a very happy and safe Festival of Holi.
