Australian Almonds

Thank you!

We were overwhelmed with responses and after much deliberation the
winning entries have now been selected and are listed below
(in no particular order).

Congratulations to our winning clubs, and to the winning entrants!!
A representative from the Almond Board of Australia will be contacting
you in the near future.

Crocs Netball Club - Queensland

submitted by Rachael Mc Curdy

The Croc's girls are a snappy new bunch,
They love their netball and an almond or two to munch!

2011 is our very first year,
We've started with just 4 netballs because they are just so dear!

So with a thousand bucks we will get some more gear,
But its a shade tent to use at training, our games and carnivals that will make us cheer!

Mosman Netball Club - New South Wales

submitted by Fi Richardson

Join Mosman Netball,
You will have a ball,
You don't have to be tall,
We teach all!

Join Mosman Netball,
You'll soon be a fan,
Its outside, you'll get a tan,
At games there's a coffee van!

But if we win this almond competition,
Almonds will be our perscription,
Training hard will remail our tradition,
This will ensure we beat our opposition!

The prize money would be received with gratitude,
Lifiting our players whole attitude!

Rain can be a real pain,
We could hire the indoor hall,
Purchase equipment, pay coaches and perhaps a ball!

We are a great club,
And try to make it a girl's hub,

Don't wait, play Mosman Netball,
It's your call!

Newbridge Netball Club - Victoria

submitted by Nadine Holland

With plan in hand for new courts bold, we ended 2010,
But January came, and mother nature dumped her rain on us in the end.

Our clubrooms gone, our foundations destroyed, our courts seemed all but lost,
But nothing keeps our club down, even when all looked lost.

So our courts are in, but we hold our game days in town,
No facilities at home, but you can't keep a good club down.

So your money would help to rebuild us for 2012,
So all our dreams of teams and finals dont need to be shelved.

Matrics Netball Club - South Australia

Demelza McCloud

Matrics Netball club thanks to the Almond Board of OZ would utilise this $1k grant to conduct
a community engagement day titled 'Nuts about Netball'.
Targetted at the wider community 'Nuts about Netball' would run as a come and try style
family fun day with skills clinics, family outdoor fitness fun and a health and nutrition seminar.
The objective would be to show South Aussies that Matrics Netball Club with the Almond Board is the
place to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle.

Liberty Netball Club - Western Australia

submitted by Sarah Fenwick

Let me tell you about or new netball team,
To be best in Success is our only dream.
We may be brand new, no longer all sprightly,
But we endeavour to train ever so brightly!
1000 bucks would buy shiny new balls,
Hire umpires to help make all the calls.
Let us invest in our very own coach,
So our tactics we no longer need to poach!
Please help us out with some extra money,
And we promise you this, not being funny -
Fitness and fun into our training we'll pack,
But we'll even make almonds our new favourite snack!

Congratulations and
thank you to all our entrants!
